ABOUT
This coffee comes from our partners, Cafe Pacas.
It is grown on different farms located in western El Salvador, forming part of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. This region is well known for its volcanic and fertile soils.
Several varieties are are cultivated, such as Bourbon, Pacas, Pacamara, Bernardina, and Mocca. The coffee plantations are cultivated under the shade of Ingas and mountain trees.
Cafe Pacas view innovation as a crucial part of coffee sustainability, and incorporate new technology to traditional working methods.
The harvest takes place from the month of October and lasts until the month of March. The coffee fruits are harvested by hand when they have reached optimum maturity.
The coffee plantations are beautiful and very well organised. They are home to a a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals that contribute to the well-being of the environment, and to carbon capture.
