Coffee Bio:
Ibrahim Jeilan is a well-known name in Ethiopia and in the world of athletics. He rose to international fame when he became a 10k and cross country world champion.
He has more recently undertaken a new journey in the world of coffee in his native Bale region, in the renowned coffee growing area of Arsi.
He established his export business in 2018, and built a coffee processing site consisting of African raised beds, storage and transport facilities, which are specifically designed to produce Natural coffees.
As a world-class athlete, Ibrahim Jeilan has a first-hand experience of what it takes to be successful, and has applied his drive for greatness to his coffee production. Working closely with more than 50 farmers, he stresses the importance of picking perfectly ripe cherry and of delivering them quickly to the processing station to achieve the highest quality.
Once the coffee cherries have reached the desired level of moisture, they are transported to a dry mill in Addis Ababa where the fruit and the parchment are removed, and are subsequently sorted to prepare Grade 1 and Grade 3 lots.
